The Continuing Saga of the Ageing Orphans is a 1978 compilation album by the rock group Thin Lizzy. Despite ostensibly featuring a selection of songs from the band's first three albums and their rare New Day EP, most of the tracks are in fact different from the originally released versions, having been remixed and altered with newly recorded material specially for this release during Christmas 1977.

Продюсер: Philip Lynott, Nick Tauber. The Continuing Saga of the Ageing Orphans это сборник группы Thin Lizzy, который вышел в 1979 году. Все песни были написаны Филом Лайноттом. Треклист: "Things Ain’t Working Out Down at the Farm". Honesty is No Excuse". Look What the Wind Blew In". "Mama Nature Said". The Hero and the Madman". Slow Blues" (Lynott, Brian Downey). Vagabond of the Western World"

Great compilation album released in 1979, that helped me discover the early years of Thin Lizzy, though I already knew "Vagabonds Of The Western World", which is still one of my all-time favourite albums. Most of the songs on this album were actually 1977 remixes.

Thin Lizzys most successful songs, Whiskey in the Jar, Jailbreak, after Lynotts death in 1986, various incarnations of the band emerged over the years based initially around guitarists Scott Gorham and John Sykes, though Sykes left the band in 2009. Gorham later continued with a new line-up including Downey, Lynott, Thin Lizzys de facto leader, was composer or co-composer of almost all of the bands songs, and the first black Irishman to achieve commercial success in the field of rock music.
