The Back-to-Africa movement, also known as the Colonization movement or After slave act, originated in the United States during the 19th century. It encouraged those of African descent to return to the African homelands of their ancestors. This movement would eventually inspire other movements, ranging from the Nation of Islam to the Rastafari movement and proved to be popular among African Americans.
And Back to the Land marks the moment when they perfectly intersect. The band’s fourth album heads further into the earthier direction of its 2011 predecessor, West, and casts even more radiant rays of Golden State sunshine onto the band’s once-foreboding hypno-drone-rock. Its eight songs still adhere to Shjips’ trusty game plan-get to the jam, stat. So it’s doubly ironic that the most conventionally rendered track on Back to Land is also its most revelatory: With the closing Everybody Knows, Wooden Shjips embark on their maiden voyage into melancholic (if still fuzzed-out) balladry, and it’s a rewarding one at that. As usual, frontman Ripley Johnson’s words are barely decipherable above the song's Crazy Horse haze, but the affecting, crestfallen feeling he invests in his performance cuts through loud and clear.

What’s treated by law as vandalism apparently only applies when the artists are Black/brown/lower class, yet he gets the police protecting him. And while he can tag walls freely, other artists get arrested for it, and while they hardly get any recognition, his white ass gets coddled by the elitist art scene.

If you want to use this insult: you should go back to school and learn some geography. While you're there, learn some scientific facts, such as how all humans can trace their origins back to Africa, not just blacks. It has been proven: the most racist communities also happen to be the least educated. Racist: "Go back to Africa" Black: "You should come with me since all humans are originally from Africa.
Come Back, Africa chronicles the life of Zachariah, a black South African living under the rule of the harsh apartheid government in 1959.
