State Champs (stylized sometimes as STATE CHAMPS) is an American rock band from Albany, New York, formed in 2010. They are currently signed to Pure Noise Records and have released three EPs and three full-length albums. They released an acoustic EP titled The Acoustic Things in October 2014 and their second full-length album Around the World and Back one year later, in October 2015. In May 2017, they released a deluxe version of their album Around the World and Back, along with a DVD of footage from their last few tours

State Champs story isn't unlike one you've heard before. A group of pop-punk-lovin' guys got together in a sleepy suburb, practiced their butts off, and formed a band. They released a few EPs, the last of which, 2014's The Acoustic Things, charted at Their debut album, The Finer Things, was released the year prior, and charted at Impressive stuff for a band still in their infancy, but not one undeserved. These New York boys are responsible for ushering in a new wave of pop-punk, one that is as clever as it is inventive. It feels familiar but not derivative
