Social Distortion is the eponymous third studio album by the American punk rock band Social Distortion, released on March 27, 1990 through Epic Records, their first recording on that label. The album furthered the rockabilly, blues and country music experimentation of their previous album with songs like "Drug Train" and the radio hit "Ball and Chain". The focus on the alternative rock scene helped bring attention to Social Distortion

If your using a distortion pedal just try lowering the gain and turning up the distortion, I don't recommend it though then you just get a really bad tone (aKa Lazy mans grunge). it reduces the feedback a lot. In 1927 Harold Black invented the negative feedback amplifier in which the output signal of an analog gain circuit is compared with the input signal so as to improve the performance. There are many ways to achieve this effect, all involving negatively amplifying the difference between the input and output so as to minimize this difference. Negative feedback is good at reducing all forms of distortion, linear and nonlinear. If the open loop distortion of the amplifier is 5%, then 60 dB of feedback should make it about.

With this album, Social Distortion proved they were back on track after a five year hiatus from 1983 to 1988. While their first album, the brilliant Mommy's Little Monster was a straight up punk record with not the greatest diversity, their next release, Prison Bound combined more of a rock & roll and roots rock sound to their music. This album also shows a rock & roll and rockabilly sound combined with punk which works really well.

Negative feedback has an important role in helping prevent frequency distortion. As the worked example in Module . illustrates, applying NFB keeps the closed loop gain at a constant level for even large changes in open loop gain. This effect of NFB helps produce a flat response curve. Phase distortion can be limited by avoiding the use of reactive components such as capacitors and inductors in both the amplifier and any feedback loops where possible. For this reason direct (DC) inter-stage coupling is the preferred method in many amplifiers.
