Ion Dissonance is a Canadian mathcore band from Montreal, Quebec. They are known for their technical style, and soon switched to a more groove based style with the release of their 2007 album Minus the Herd. In total, the group have released five full-length albums and are well renown in the Montreal music scene.

Cursed is the fourth studio album by the Canadian mathcore/deathcore band Ion Dissonance, released on August 24, 2010 through Century Media in North America, Doom Patrol Records in Japan, and Basick Records in Europe. This is the first Ion Dissonance album to feature 8-string guitars as well as clean vocals. Songs such as "Pallor" are some of the first ID songs to ever feature cleaning singing. The album reunites singers/songwriters Donnie Vie and Chip Z'Nuff after Vie's hiatus from the band of several years. Original sessions for the album started in 2006, prompted by the band's possible inclusion in a pilot episode for the VH-1 show "Bands on the Ru. Songs from these initial sessions, bootlegged as Lost In Vegas by fans, would be later reworked for the official release of Dissonance. Initially planned as a DVD release, a 2-CD live album of Enuff Z'Nuff's Japanese tour of Dissonance was created. Titled Live And Peace, it was released in Japan through King Records in December 2009.
