Description

Possibilities is a Herbie Hancock adventure record. This ten-cut smorgasbord features the ever restless pianist, composer, and arranger in the company of literally dozens of artists, from pop singers like Christina Aguilera, Sting, and Annie Lennox to rock legends such as Santana and Paul Simon to relative newcomers like John Mayer, Jonny Lang, and Joss Stone, as well as some renowned international performers, such as Angélique Kidjo and Raul. Midón in a wide range of songs, styles, and moods. Hancock cut the record in studios all over the world, all the collaborations were done face to face,.

Herbert Jeffrey Hancock (born April 12, 1940) is an American pianist, keyboardist, bandleader, composer and actor. Hancock started his career with Donald Byrd. He shortly thereafter joined the Miles Davis Quintet, where he helped to redefine the role of a jazz rhythm section and was one of the primary architects of the post-bop sound. In the 1970s, Hancock experimented with jazz fusion, funk, and electro styles.

Herbie Hancock describes Possibilities this way: "This is real collaboration that we're doing here. John Mayer came to his session with a simple guitar phrase from which he and Hancock created a fully arranged song, replete with lyrics and a rhythm section of drums, bass and keyboards. Sting and Hancock freshly reinterpret Sting's song 'Sister Moon', from the album 'Nothing Like the Sun'.

Possibilities Warner P&D 2005. Possibilities by Herbie Hancock Import. Sort: Recent best-seller Results cached. This album is terrible! Using old scheme ( to produce m0ney, not music) Hancock tried to make pop-album ( in the manner of "Grammy" winner "Supernatural" of Santana). Still Tom Jones many years ago returned back to business using duets with modern popular artists release. Santana made trilogy based on that formula ( only first album was really interesting). So, Hancock even ask Santana for help and recorded one song with Santana standard guitar solo ( and Anqelique Kidjo on vocal). But it didn't help - album is total disaster!
