Trilogy is a compilation album by Canadian singer The Weeknd. It was released on 13 November 2012 by Republic Records and XO. It is composed of re-mixed and remastered versions of his 2011 mixtapes House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence, and three d songs.

To release the album, The Weeknd had to clear a few samples. He managed to clear the Beach House sample on The Party & The After Party and the Siouxsie and the Banshees sample on House of Balloons, Glass Table Girls, but he did not manage to clear Aaliyah’s Rock the Boat sample on What You Need, so the intro for that track was altered. On October 3rd, 2012, The Weeknd released the official video for Rolling Stone to promote the release of the album. Trilogy’s cover art is actually a still image taken from that video. Along with the video, Abel wrote an open letter to his fans.
