Blues Brothers and Friends: Live from Chicago's House of Blues is the eleventh album and fourth live album by The Blues Brothers in 1997. It was recorded at the opening of the House of Blues in Chicago and is the first recording to feature Zee Blues. It is also the first album to feature original keyboardist Paul Shaffer since their earlier live recording Made in America in 1980.
The Blues Brothers are an American blues band founded in 1978 by comedians Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi as part of a musical sketch on Saturday Night Live. Belushi and Aykroyd, respectively in character as lead vocalist "Joliet" Jake Blues and harpist/vocalist Elwood Blues, fronted the band, which was composed of well-known and respected musicians. The band made its debut as the musical guest on the April 22, 1978, episode of Saturday Night Live.
The Blues Brothers began as an affectionate joke-cum-tribute to R&B music, and taken in that spirit it retained its entertainment value, even after this live album topped the charts, sold two million copies, and produced hit singles in "Rubber Biscuit" and "Soul Ma. The guardians of popular music have always been entirely too reverent and humorless, however, and it wasn't long before they were leveling charges of rip-off against the Brothers and complaining that John Belushi couldn't sing as well as Otis Redding
to never miss another show. Todo empezó en un número cómico musical para el programa de televisión Satuday night live, creado y protagonizado por los actores John Belushi y Dan Aykroyd, los Blues Brothers. Take Mixcloud on the go.
Album Briefcase Full Of Blues. Hey there sugar darling Let me tell you something Girl, I've been trying to say You look so sweet And you're so, so doggon fine I just can't get you out of my mind. You come a sweet taste in my mouth now And I want you to be my spouse So that we can live happily now In a great big old roomy house.
The genesis of the Blues Brothers can be traced back to this moment in January of 1976. Shortly after joining the cast of SNL, Akroyd rented the Holland Tunnel Blues Bar, which quickly became the hangout of SNL's guests, cast, and crew members. SNL 's music arranger, Paul Shaffer was enlisted to assist Belushi and Akroyd at assembling their own band.
The Blues Brothers (Akroyd and Belushi) deliver a surprisingly solid blues album, with a definite nostalgia factor. It's a nice way to spend an hour and a cool piece of (remastered) history. This album was in my father's record collection. It was the soundtrack to many father and son road trips and fishing trips. I learned about the Blues legends from this album. This album made me want to learn more about the great blues musicians. Because of Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi and their love of the Blues I have also gained a great appreciation of the Blues.
