The album was his first recording for a major label since 1965 when his first stint with Philips ended due to creative differences. Stage is David Bowie's second live album, recorded on the Isolar II Tour, and released by RCA Records in 1978. Though it was rumouredat the time that this would be his final outing with the label, following dissatisfaction over the promotion of Low and "Heroes", Bowie remained with RCA until 1982.
Released in 1969, it is Jorge Ben's first album with Trio Mocotó. The self-titled album is said to have influenced the Tropicália movement, with Gal Costa recording "Que Pena" and "País Tropical" in her first self-titled album, also released in 1969. País Tropical" turned out to be Jorge Ben's most famous song in Brazil.
Lima first took the stage name Jorge Ben after his mother’s name (of Ethiopian origin) but in the 1980s changed it to Jorge Ben Jor (commonly written Benjor). Some of his tracks include Chove Chuva, Mas Que Nada, Ive Brussel, Balança Pena, and many others, he has been interpreted by other professional artists such as Caetano Veloso, Sergio Mendes, Miriam Makeba, and Marisa Monte.
Jorge Ben Jor (born March 22, 1945 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian popular musician. His characteristic style fuses samba, funk, rock and bossa nova with lyrics that blend humor and satire with often esoteric subject matter.
