Lyrics to "Woodstock" song by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young: Well I came upon a child of God, he was walking along the road And I asked him tell me where are yo.We are stardust, we are golden, we are billion year old carbon, And we got to get ourselves back to the garden. By the time we got to Woodstock, we were half a million strong, And everywhere was a song and a celebration. And I dreamed I saw the bomber jet planes riding shotgun in the sky, Turning into butterflies above our nation. We are stardust, we are golden, we are caught in the devil's bargain, And we got to get ourselves back to the garden. About Crosby, Stills & Nash . Released by Atlantic Records in 1969, CS&N’s self-titled debut LP immortalized the triumvirate. With hit singles such as Suite: Judy Blue Eyes and Marrakesh Express, the album simultaneously lifted the group to stardom and inspired a new aesthetic of songwriting that helped define a 70’s genre of songwriting void of subterfuge. In 2012, Rolling Stone magazine ranked the album as the 262nd greatest of all-time. Nash, in his 2013 autobiography, Wild Tales, describes the creation of the album: There was no great preamble to making our first album

Got It Made A rare Stills/Young collaboration, the song appeared on the long-belated CSNY second album American Dream. Nevertheless, Got It Made has an instantly catchy chorus that helps it stand out from the rest of the set, even on first listen

Rolling Stone recently sat down with Crosby, Stills & Nash to go track by track through their landmark 1969 debut album. Recorded before Neil Young joined their ranks, it contains many of their most enduring songs. We were in love with each other at the time we recorded that album, Graham Nash says. We were new friends discovering new parts about each other and we had songs  . Crosby: I loved it as a song and I loved what happened with it. We got very lucky, very fortunate with the harmonies on that one. They came out extremely well. We still play it every night. You Don’t Have To Cry Nash: That was first song we ever sang together.

David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash formed a loose group in 1968 after the demise of their former bands. After their first album was released in May 1969 (simply called Crosby, Stills & Nash) Neil Young joined them, too. Though the quartet was incredibly successful, the musicians rather paid attention to their individual solo careers. Luckily the formation of CSN&Y made it to Woodstock, too. It was only their second gig and they were quite nervous on stage
