The end result is easily the best Built to Spill album of the decade- an improbable late-career reawakening and heartening evidence that becoming dependable doesn't mean having to settle for being predictable.

Live is an album of live recordings made by indie rock band Built to Spill on the band's Keep It Like a Secret tour in 1999. At the time the album was recorded, the band consisted of singer/guitarist Doug Martsch, guitarists Brett Netson, Jim Roth, bassist Brett Nelson, and drummer Scott Plouf. Live was released on the Warner Bros. label on April 18, 2000. The model featured on the cover is Jeremy Atkins, a musician and an executive with Dark Horse Comics.

Just as good as any Built to Spill album. I think it's safe to say that Built to Spill fans will love this record and the lack of indulgent sprawl that marred some of You In Reverse's best moments. TINE is perfect from beginning to end. There are no weak songs or songs I want to skip (unlike most of their other releases).

BIO: When Built To Spill wanted to find out what their music sounded like they locked themselves in Doug Martsch's garage. Without a tentative conclusion or even a hypothesis the four members began to experiment. Their collaborative efforts lasted seasons and yielded dozens of hours of ADAT tape. The album You In Reverse documents the newest branch of Built To Spill's chaotic, yet elegant evolution. Doug Martsch formed Built To Spill in 1992. His intention was to sustain a project that would involve a rotating cast of musicians to record albums and tour.
