Sweetwater String Band was formed in 2008 in Mammoth Lakes, California, a small town along the eastern escarpment of the Sierra Nevada mountains. For the first few years we all lived in Mammoth Lakes and now are spread across a range of western towns. Scott Roberts, on mandolin, lives in Durango, Colorado. We think you'll like the new album, "At Night". Our 2014 album, River of Rhymes, was described by No Depression as "a work of both intimacy and wide-scale, cinematic vistas. We're even more excited about this album. The songs are from the heart, and we spent a lot of time making it special just for you. Distance has made us focus - on the best of tunes, and the ones we care most deeply about.

Sweetwater was an American rock band originally from Los Angeles, California. They were the act scheduled to open the Woodstock Festival in 1969; however, due to being stuck in traffic folksinger Richie Havens' trio (Daniel Ben Zebulon, percussion, Paul "Deano" Williams, guitar, backing vocals) performed first. Sweetwater was eventually flown in to Woodstock by helicopter and performed next, becoming the first band to perform at the festival.
