Marta Eggerth (17 April 1912 – 26 December 2013) was a Hungarian-born American actress and singer from "The Silver Age of Operetta". Many of the 20th century's most famous operetta composers, including Franz Lehár, Fritz Kreisler, Robert Stolz, Oscar Straus and Paul Abraham, composed works especially for her. Eggerth was born in Budapest, the daughter of Tilly (née Herzog, or Herzegh), a dramatic coloratura soprano, and Paul Eggerth, a bank director. Her mother was Jewish.

The Charm of La Bohème (German:Zauber der Boheme) is a 1937 Austrian musical film directed by Géza von Bolváry and starring Jan Kiepura, Mártha Eggerth.

Marta Eggerth, the singer and actress who was a film and stage star in Europe in the 1930s, traveled from Hollywood to Broadway in the 1940s and continued to win audiences in cabaret performances well into her 90s, died Dec. 26 at her home in Rye, . She was 101. She had a heart ailment, said her son, Marjan Kiepura. The two went on to make movies together, star in The Merry Widow on Broadway - in a production choreographed by George Balanchine - and raised two sons. On the Continent, Eggerth and Kiepura were household names, University of Illinois film scholar Edwin Jahiel once wrote. They were often referred to as Eggerth-Kiepura, the way, in America, one spoke of the Jeanette MacDonald-Nelson Eddy musical couple.

Eggerth and her husband, Jan Kiepura, the celebrated Polish tenor, who both had Jewish mothers, also left Austria for America, where they continued their singing careers. They married in 1936. Among Eggerth's last German films were Das Hofkonzert (1936), which the director Detlef Sierck (later Douglas Sirk) called "Viennese pastry", and Zauber Der Boheme (1937), also starring Kiepura and with a score by Stolz. After Kiepura's death in 1966, Eggerth retired for a few years, but she returned to the stage and concert hall in the 1970s, continuing into her 90s, when she would frequently sing, still in perfect pitch, her signature tune, Wien, Nur Du Allein (Vienna, City of My Dreams). She is survived by two sons.

They were married in October. In 1938, Kiepura and Eggerth fled Europe and came to New York, where Kiepura had arranged a contract to sing at the Metropolitan Opera.
