A fantastic split! The first side contains recordings from New Zealand's Lamp Of The Universe that date back to 2003-2004. Almost sounding like Yahowha in places, the material is pretty much jam based, with acoustic sounds evolving into a pure acid rock freakout, ending with a sort of tribal chant. On the other side Kanoi from Austria brings us some brilliant, Floyd-like atmospheres, Hendrixian psych guitar eruptions and spacey vocals. A truly tripped out release featuring amazing artwork from Dale Simpson.

Kanoi biography KANOI was founded as a 'one-man' experimental rock project by Benjamin KANTSCHIEDER (born in a small town of Lienz in 1988) in 2010. Stumbled upon The Beatles or Pink Floyd, which had exerted inspiration for him, he's played the guitar and made compositions. Through forming a couple of bands and gigging, Benjamin finally built his small home studio in Vienna and recorded by himself. It's the longest jam of the album, scoring more than 17 minutes. It's very hypnotic, still based on drums and guitar with the bass supporting the passages as a keyboard may have done. The sound is fullfilled by echo end reverb on the guitar.
