Breath from Another is the debut studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Esthero. The album was released on April 28, 1998 and now generally considered a trip hop classic despite poor sales. Despite its containing several expletives and sexual content, the album was not released with a Parental Advisory warning. Thanks in part to the success of the album's music videos, the album has sold over 100,000 copies in the United States, and achieved Gold certification in the artist's native Canada.

Breath from Another is the debut album by Esthero. It won acclaim from critics upon its release for its eclecticism, blending elements of trip-hop, jazz, pop, and more. Though the album failed to chart, it had sold more than 50,000 copies in Canada and more than 100,000 in the US as of 2005. The album spawned three singles: the title track, Heaven Sent, and That Girl. In an interview with David D. Robbins Jr., she recalls the vigorous writing process was written from the perspective of a 17-year-old girl. And when you’re 17, you’re fucking passionate. Because everything is new, everything is fucking now, do or die.

Track 1 - Breath from Another. Personally I feel that for being a title track this song lacks the real feeling of Esthero, starting the track with a lightly scratched sample from Deliverance "squeel like a pig". But of course, in her brilliant way Esthero starts singing with her low-tone melody just over the deep bass and the snap of the snare. The tempo progresses into a snappy snare hit beat, then back into the deep driven bass line. For anyone, this song is either the beginning or the peak of the journey.
