Fuchsia is a British progressive folk rock band formed in 1970. Named after Fuchsia Groan they released one album before disbanding. Their self-titled album was featured as one of Mojo's Forgotten Classics. Their style was similar to their contemporaries Jade and Comus. The band was formed by Tony Durant (acoustic guitar, electric guitar, lead vocals), while a student at Exeter University, and comprised Michael Day (bass guitar), Michael Gregory (drums, percussion)

Fuchsia by Fuchsia, released 27 October 1971 1. Gone with the Mouse 2. A Tiny Book 3. Another Nail 4. Shoes and Ships 5. The Nothing Song 6. Me and my Kite 7. Just Anyone 8. Ragtime Brahms 9. The Band This is the remastered version by Tony Durant of the 1971 cult classic. In it's time, the original Fuchsia was groundbreaking. The album encompasses a unique combination of string trio and guitar, bass and drums, and a disregard for conventional pop/folk song formalities.

Fuchsia only produced this one album, exploring the netherlands between folk, psych, prog and light classical. There is a 15 minute DVD with Tony Durant talking about the album and what happened to him and Fuchsia after the initial release, along with a 60" square fold-out poster of the original album cover, which was drawn by Anne Marie Anderson (who also designed Caravan's 'Land Of Grey And Pink'), a 24pp A4 magazine

Fuchsia III, as yet untitled, is recorded but not mixed, planned for release next year. I hope to see you at the next Fuchsia gig! Tony Durant - Fuchsia this fine album is powerful, experimental and full of new ideas. It has an airy and timeless quality which is beautiful and impressive. Anthony Weightman, AAA Music it is a masterpiece
