Orkan ("Hurricane") is the eighth full-length album by Swedish folk metal band Vintersorg. As with the previous two albums, the lyrics are all in Swedish. This is the second of a planned four-album concept series based on the elements, the first being Jordpuls. Andreas Hedlund - vocals, guitars (acoustic, lead, rhythm), bass, keyboards, programming. Vintersorg have delivered an album that is at all times above the ordinary – but that does also not come close the highlights of Vintersorg’s own discography. Originally written for ww. orthwind-promotion. Orkan embodies folk metal as it should be, in my opinion. Vintersorg has a true knack for forging catchy vocal lines - even in his progressive era, there are vocal hooks galore, and Orkan contains no shortage of them. The dominant title track is the best example; "Orkan" rains down one of the catchiest choruses in Vintersorg's history with competitively catchy verses.

Orkan is the second release from Vintersorg’s planned Quadrology, a 4 part epic that is supposed to convert and transmit the basic natural elements into an interesting musical voyage. This is due to the fact that Mr. V always touches on different aspects that eventually leaded to the band’s new sound and (on Orkan) he fuses them to create his most concise and balanced album yet.
