Description

Music video by The Manhattan Transfer performing The Offbeat Of Avenues.

Redirected from Pastiche (The Manhattan Transfer album)). Pastiche was released by The Manhattan Transfer on January 19, 1978, by Atlantic Records. This was the last studio album recorded with Laurel Massé, who ended her association with the group later that year. The album was re-issued with Rhino as distributor on November 15, 1994. Pastiche peaked at No. 66 on the Billboard magazine Top Pop Catalog Albums chart. Four Brothers" (Jimmy Giuffre) – 3:47.

The dictionary definition of "pastiche" is an artistic composition imitating or caricaturing previous works, so given the lack of home-grown material here, it is hard to say what the Manhattan Transfer meant by this title. But there are signs that they were getting close.

The Manhattan Transfer is a jazz vocal group founded in 1969 that has explored a cappella, vocalese, swing, standards, Brazilian jazz, rhythm and blues, and pop music. The first group consisted of Hauser, Erin Dickins, Marty Nelson, Pat Rosalia, and Gene Pistilli. The second version of the group, formed in 1972, consisted of Hauser, Alan Paul, Janis Siegel, and Laurel Massé.
