Autry DeWalt Mixon Jr. (June 14, 1931 – November 23, 1995), known professionally as Junior Walker, was an American saxophonist and vocalist who recorded for Motown during the 1960s. Walker was born Autry DeWalt Mixon Jr. on June 14, 1931 in Blytheville, Arkansas, and grew up in South Bend, Indiana. He began playing saxophone while in high school, and his saxophone style was the anchor for the sound of the bands he later played in.

It is the closest thing to what a James Brown record might have sounded like under the guidance of Berry Gordy. There is the iconic sax intro to "What Does It Take," some raw funk workouts like "Baby Ain't You Shame" and "Hip City," and the impossible bass playing from "The Hook," Mr. James Jamerson on the title track.

Produced by Lawrence Horn & Berry Gordy.

The day without the shining sun Is a day without your loving baby One look, one look and well seem as one That's how easy we communicate A single match can make a fire begin A single kiss and I'm warm within girl.

Clinging to the Thought That She’s Coming Back.

Smooth Northern soul, soul sound produced by Johnny Bristol on the Tamla Motown record label  .
