At the time of his death in 1980, Jacob Miller was establishing a musical foundation of controversial, socially conscious lyrics that documented the struggles of Jamaica's underclass. Along with Bob Marley, who ironically died a year later, he represented the powerful spirit of oppressed people who refuse to accept injustice. Miller's clear, sweet, echoing voice highlighted tunes that painted familiar scenes of life in Jamaica's ghettos.

This is the first studio album since 1979, and features Roger Scott Craig, Billy Kinsley, Dave Goldberg and Kenny Parry. Eleven new songs are included, as well as a new version of "John George Ringo & Paul" - the band's creative tribute to The Beatles. On a scholarship with the Sydney Roosters from age 14 onwards, Miller was released from the club as they had Todd Carney, Braith Anasta and Mitchell Pearce able to fill positions in the halves.
