The Horrible Crowes is a musical duo consisting of vocalist and guitarist Brian Fallon and guitarist Ian Perkins. Fallon is also the front man in The Gaslight Anthem, a band he formed in 2006. Their debut album and only full-length studio release to date, Elsie, was released on September 6, 2011, through SideOneDummy Records.

The Horrible Crowes is a New Brunswick, New Jersey rock band, composed of The Gaslight Anthem’s frontman Brian Fallon and longtime friend Ian Perkins, which conceptualized while Perkins joined Gaslight on a worldwide tour in 2010 and the duo started writing songs on buses, in hotel rooms and even a bathroom in Japan following the earthquake. The Behold The Hurricane Songfacts explains that the name comes from an old poem called the Twa Corbies, which means, 'two crows.

Behold the Hurricane was a great song, as my highlight of the album, but there is nothing that screams different about it. It's a good album, but not amazing.

Brian Fallon, the frontman for New Jersey rockers the Gaslight Anthem, teamed up with his old friend Ian Perkins to form the Horrible Crowes, an outlet for the singer's more introspective material. Though the songs on Elsie, the band's debut, are slower and more somber than most Gaslight Anthem tunes, Fallon's gift for grand, cinematic music is still in evidence. Elsie will hit stores on September 6th, but you can stream the album in full today.

On September 14, 2011, The Horrible Crowes took the stage of the legendary Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA for an amazing hour-long plus set. It was only the band’s second show, and attendees were able to experience Elsie in an authentic, natural setting. The Horrible Crowes will also be playing shows to promote the album and Fallon promises that the environment will be a stark contrast to a typical Gaslight Anthem performance. ?œOur shows are going to be smaller and theyâ?™re going to take place in very intimate venues,â? Fallon explains. ?œItâ?™s not the kind of thing where you get wasted. Itâ?™s more, â?˜Iâ?™m going to take my lady out and watch a band play and itâ?™s going to be quiet and then weâ?™re going to go home and have a good evening,â?™â? he continues. ?œIâ?™m not a different person when Iâ?™m in this band, itâ?™s just another side of what I love,â? Fallon summarizes, adding that although his Gaslight Anthem bandmates stopped by to perform on this record, The Horrible Crowes is its own tortured and sometimes beautiful beast.
