It's actually mid-mountain. Even if you're not a skier you can still enjoy the sights of Toas Ski Valley. From the city of Taos it will take around 40-45 minutes (depending on the weather) to drive to the top of the mountain. From there you will enjoy free parking. Once parked you can take a free shuttle to the base of the mountain (but you can also quickly walk there) where there are small shops and of course a bar/tv lounge where you can wet your whistle, grab a burger and watch other folks attempt the make it down the black diamonds.
