Some SUPER SONGS on this album released in 1977 on Columbia Records

The Rambler is the 56th album by American country singer Johnny Cash, released in 1977 on Columbia Records. A concept album about travelling, its songs, in between, include dialogue between Cash and hitchhikers picked up or other people he meets during the album's cross-country trip. It is the last, and one of the few Johnny Cash albums to only feature songs written by Cash himself.

Hit the Road and Go, 02:35. If It Wasn't for the Wabash River, 02:06.

Johnny Cash albums discography. The Johnny Cash albums discography chronicles the output of one of the most prolific recorded music artists of all time, singer Johnny Cash. His lengthy career, spanning 1954 to 2003, included the release of 96 albums on several record labels. Over the years, Cash also collaborated with many of the industry's most notable artists, and received many awards and accolades from different organizations.

Out of all of Johnny Cash's Americana concept albums, The Rambler is by far the most forced and stilted. More of a radio play than an album, the record is about Cash's drive across America, where he picks up hitchhikers along the way. Every song on The Rambler is tied together by dialogues between Cash and the hitchhikers, which means the record never develops a sense of momentum. Furthermore, the songs themselves are slight, without much musically or lyrically to reccommend them.

The Rambler is the 56th album by American country singer Johnny Cash, released in 1977 on Columbia Records. It is also his last non-religious concept album, and was included on the Bear Family box set Come Along and Ride This Train.
