Not a bad album but lots of filler. Imhotep is absolutely boring besides the opening riff. Jack plods along with one of IEs worst choruses I’ve ever heard. Not a metal song, but Springfield from The Optimist it's a great song!! The last album of Anathema is really bad (and bored). It's very short, but I also like "San Francisco" from that album. I agree there are some dull stretches on The Optimist, but I still think overall it's a good album. Top. Gravetemplar Metal newbie.
