Albedo . 9 is a studio album by the Greek electronic composer Vangelis, released in 1976. It was the second album produced by Vangelis in Nemo Studios, London, which was his creative base until the late 1980s. It contrasts with his previous album, Heaven and Hell, which was classically inspired and choral, while Albedo . 9 has blues and jazz overtones. It was his first Top 20 UK album.

Vangelis ‎– Albedo . 9. Label: RCA Victor ‎– RS 1080. Format: Vinyl, LP, Album, Gatefold Sleeve. This album is one the grandfathers of mainstream electronic music (next to Autobahn and Oxygene) and takes it's place at being of one the first and best. Catchy tunes, memorable rhythms and many great songs. This album is one of Vangelis' best and i would recommended it! Reply Notify me Helpful. Calling all hardcore Vangelis fans! Was there ever an instrumental of the title track released? I love the spoken word vocals, but it would be amazing to listen to the actual music without it. 9' is Vangelis' eighth album and sees the musician at a peak in his long career. Like many albums of that period in music (mid 70's) the theme of 'Albedo . 9' revolves around the Space. Albedo, or reflection coefficient, is the diffuse reflectivity or reflection power of a surface, and in this specific case, Albedo is the power of light reflection of the Earth (which in 1976 was . 9, hence the name of the album).
