Spunk is a bootleg demo album by the English punk rock band The Sex Pistols. It was originally released in the United Kingdom during September or October 1977. The album comprises studio demos and talking recorded with Dave Goodman during 1976 and early 1977, while original bass player Glen Matlock was still a member of the band. Most of the songs would later be re-recorded and officially released on the group's album, Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols.

The Sex Pistols one and only true studio album. The legendary ‘Never Mind the Bollocks Here’s The Sex Pistols’. An estimated 50,000 copies of ‘NMTB’ had already been pressed without ‘Submission’ so it was decided to insert the track as a free 7″ single (along with a fold-out ‘Never Mind The Bollocks’ collage poster). Some sleeve misprints include ‘Belsen Was A Gas’ however the track does not appear on the album. However, a lost demo of the track – recorded at the band’s Denmark Street rehearsal room in September 1977 – surfaced in 2012 on the NMTB super-deluxe.

Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols. Redirected from Never Mind the Bollocks Here's the Sex Pistols). Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols is the only studio album by English punk rock band the Sex Pistols, released on 28 October 1977 by Virgin Records. At the time of its release, the Sex Pistols were controversial, having sworn on live TV, been fired from two record labels, and been banned from playing live in most parts of England.

But before we make the Sex Pistols and their cohorts into fish-and-chips Zapatas, and long before sainthood has set in on Johnny Rotten, we should remember that this band has more on its mind than being a rock & roll centerpiece for enlightened liberal discussion. First of all, they’re musicians, not philosophers, so they’re probably more interested in making the best possible mythopoeic loud noise than they are in any logical, inverted political scripture. That said, no one should be frightened away from this album. Those who view the Sex Pistols only in eve-of-destruction terms should remember that any theory of destruction as highfalutin as Rotten’s also contains the seeds of freedom and even optimism.

Spunk is therefore often cited as the Sex Pistols' de facto alternative debut album Reissues. Spunk was released on 17 July 2006 by Sanctuary Records in its original vinyl format (CMQLP1395, limited to 1,000 copies). The CD version (CMRCD1376) included the three bonus tracks from the original No Future UK? bootleg.

This is possibly the Sex Pistols at their best. Infact, probably Punk rock at its best. 12. EMI - Very good example of Sex Pistols. Its a powerful song and is ranked quite high in my favourite punk rock songs but is trailing some of the above songs. This is a very good punk rock album.

It is the only studio album the group ever recorded. Older versions of most of the songs on the album are also on the bootleg album Spunk find.
