Daybreak is the seventh studio album by the American rock band Saves the Day. This album is the band's first without long-time guitarist David Soloway since 1998, and their first with guitarist Arun Bali and bass guitarist Rodrigo Palma. The album also features Spencer Peterson on drums for the first time, before leaving the band prior to the album's release.

Four years in the making, Saves The Day’s seventh full-length has finally arrived. With any album delayed this long, it’s hard not to feel slightly let down, as listeners will have built up the release in their own minds. As any longtime STD fan will tell you, preconceptions are a real bitch. Daybreak is the next chapter in the peeling back of frontman Chris Conley’s psyche-in fact, it’s possibly the most honest collection yet-with songs ranging from multi-part, genre-hopping suites (the title track) to sultry ballads ( Chameleon ) and chirpy pop nuggets that sound like an In Reverie cut sped.

Choosing the name "Daybreak" for an album about acceptance may not be the most subtle of choices, but subtlety isn’t really the forte of emo musicians. Neither is acceptance for that matter; which is perhaps why the album comes across as unsatisfying. It’s as close to vintage Saves the Day as there is on the album as it features Conley’s wonderfully nasally vocals, whiney emo-tastic lyrics, and loud, distorted guitars. After some detours through relaxed grooves and acoustic funk, the track ends with the eponymous closing movement. At the conclusion of the emotional roller coaster, Conley concludes the song with So take me in your arms knowing I’m the one.

Daybreak is also the first Saves The Day album to feature guitarist Arun Bali, bassist Rodrigo Palma and drummer Spencer Peterson (the latter of whom was replaced by Claudio Rivera shortly after the album was completed) and Conley insists that his band’s participation and encouragement was integral to the final product  . That transformed spirit is evident in every note of Daybreak (which was co-produced by the band and longtime collaborator Marc Hudson) from the ten-minute long, five-movement self-titled opener to instantly infectious pop gems like Let It Go and Living Without Love.
