Amon Düül II. Альбом. Hijack ‎(CD, Album, RE, Dig). Being a proud owner of all thing Amon Duul II related, for the longest time this was one of my least favourites. I just got through playing it for the first time in years (the original German vinyl on Nova), and now it's a strong contender to be in my Top 5 by this band. It seems my tastes have become much more tolerant/accepting over the last 40 years. Or perhaps the new phono cartridge is responsible? This album isn't for everyone, in particular fans of their earlier works; Yeti, Wolf City, Carnival In Babylon, Tanz der Lemmings, etc. They might find this a tad difficult to listen. Hijack ‎ (LP, Album). Amon Düül II - You're Not Alone 6:55.

Hijack is an album by Amon Düül II from 1974, released by Atlantic Records. It was distributed in the UK by WEA Records. Produced by Olaf Kübler and Amon Düül II and engineered by Peter Kramper, the album sleeves photography was done by Falk U. Rogner and Gena Zimmerman, with design and artwork by Jürgen Rogner. The song Mozambique is dedicated to the political revolutionary Monika Ertl, all music composed by ibl, except where indicated. Released 1974. I Can't Wait, Pt. 1 & 2, 06:17.

Released in 1974, Amon Düül II's Hijack (or, "Hi-jack," as it was released in Germany) is not frequently (if ever) regarded as one of their better albums. In fact, author Ingmar Schrober gives it a few scant sentences in Tanz der Lemmings, his biography of the band published in 1979. For the most part, this critical dismissal is accurate - fans and critics seem to agree for once - most of what's here is unfocused, very polished, meandering psych prog that goes nowhere.
