Mozart's Don Giovanni complete opera with English subtitles.

Don Giovanni is an album by the Italian singer-songwriter Lucio Battisti. Nearly four years in its making, it was released in March 1986 by the Numero Uno label and was later re-released by Sony BMG. In stylistic terms, it features an avant-garde blend of an almost minimalist sound, featuring synthpop inspired electronics, with classic Italian popular music. The title of the album alludes to Mozart's famous work Don Giovanni. The album was Italy's third best-selling album in 1986.

Although it has many great moments, this Don Giovanni, pieced together from a run of live performances in January and February 1997, struggles to find its stride. Abbado brings out orchestral textures and colors that other conductors often overlook, but his tempo choices frequently feel slow, sapping important moments of their energy. The opening scene, Donna Anna's arias, and the all-important second act finale all drag like a ball and chain. The result is a recording that has many drawbacks of a live recording - the more distant focus and occasional sloppiness - but rarely the energy.

Dramma giocoso in two acts (1787). Music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte. In Italian with German surtitles. A recreation of the 2006 Theater an der Wien Production in celebration of the 10th Anniversary. Premiere: Monday, 12. December 2016, 7 pm until 1. 0 pm (Intermission: . 0 pm).

Mozart's opera Don Giovanni follows the adventures of the rougish, womanising Giovanni, mixing comedy, tragedy and drama with the supernatural. Don Giovanni immediately takes a shine to the bride Zerlina and tries to persuade her new husband to let him throw the happy couple a wedding party at his castle. Masetto isn’t fooled, and guessing Giovanni’s alternative motives, turns his offer down. Pictured: Richard Anderson as Masetto and Amy Wilkinson as Zerlina, Sydney Opera Australia, 2008.

Nézet-Séguin’s Don Giovanni has drama, tension, and some fabulous singing. Ildebrando D’Arcangelo makes a dangerous Giovanni, while Luca Pisaroni-a fine vocal actor-is a wily Leporello, and Rolando Villazón, the project’s driving force, sings with verve. But it’s the women who shine: Diana Damrau is a fire-spitting Anna, while Joyce DiDonato delivers a characterful, enormously stylish Elvira, and Mojca Erdmann is enchanting as Zerlina. The orchestra play with great theatricality and a terrific feeling for the opera’s light and shade, and Nézet-Séguin paces everything to perfection.

Don Giovanni (K. 527; complete title: Il dissoluto punito, ossia il Don Giovanni, literally The Rake Punished, or Don Giovanni) is an opera in two acts with music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and with an Italian libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte. It was premiered by the Prague Italian opera at the Teatro di Praga (now called the Estates Theatre) on October 29, 1787. Da Ponte's libretto was billed like many of its time as dramma giocoso, a term that denotes a mixing of serious and comic action. Mozart entered the work into his catalogue as an "opera buffa".
