LIke tman1015, I am a little scared of this album. It is a deeply shocking and accurate musical portrayal of senile dementia -inasmuch as I've (sadly) observed members of friends and family become gradually subsumed by it. Yet it is captivating, there are many moments of beauty along the way. I cannot stop going back for another listen. I wonder if anyone (apart from the artist) has managed to listen all the way through in one sitting. I am not even close to managing yet. Simon Woolf.

It was a stunningly sudden fall for a band that had ascended to the heights of the queer punk scene, adored by fans and praised by critics since the release of its debut album, Ugly Cherries, in 2015. To anyone who was hurt by this image, know that it was me as a stupid kid and not who I am today, and I am so so sorry. Ben Hopkins of PWR BTTM performs at South by Southwest in Austin. Ruins is a Japanese /fusion duo, formed by drummer/vocalist Tatsuya Yoshida and a bass guitarist (in the course of 20 years the group changed four bassists). Since the departure of Sasaki Hisashi in 2004, Tatsuya proceeds playing solo with only a drum-kit as Ruins alone. Formed in 1985, the group was intended to be a power trio; after a handful of rehearsals as a trio, the band abandoned the guitar and chose to move forward as a 2-piece. On their first recordings, Ruins teamed up with NYC experimental sax-icon John Zorn, who would later release their albums on Tzadik.
