Fronted by the considerable vocal talents of Sonya Sukorukova, The Erised are a quintet originally from the Ukraine who make sultry, moving electro pop. They are, unusually enough, signed to south London imprint Med School (the wittily named counterpart to Hospital Records) who, in our humble opinion, made a pretty wise decision with this lot. It was last year’s Desire EP that first grabbed our attention, and now The Erised are following that up with something a little meatier in the form of Room 414, their debut album. We came up with the lyrics for this song in a hotel, Room 414, and we fell in love with it so much that we decided to name the album after this song. By the way, the photo used for the album cover is the very Room 414 that we were in when coming up with the idea for this song. Liar is a lot like the rest of our tracks. You’re never quite sure where the song is going or how it will end.
