Superlove" is a pop and Miami bass song inspired by the 1980s and 1990s era. MTV's Madeline Roth found similarities between the song and Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass", calling the latter "a poppier cousin". while Ben Dandridge-Lemco of The Fader compared it to Ghost Town DJ's "My Boo".

Superlove is a promo single by singer-songwriter Tinashe. Initially meant to be the lead single from her sophomore album Joyride, the chart failure of the song meant the singer eventually released 4 more promo singles before deciding on No Drama as the official first single from the LP.
