Dave Rempis - Joshua Abrams - Avreeayl Ra - Aphelion ‎(CD, Album).

Rempis/Abrams/Ra + Baker: Perihelion. Published January 4, 2017April 25, 2019 – By Mike Shanley. Dave Rempis made his mark as the second saxophonist in the Vandermark 5, and his former employer’s influence is abundant throughout Perihelion, a two-disc set released on Rempis’ label, Aerophonic. The music undulates like waves on the high seas, lulls giving way to stormy interludes, free improv giving way to beats and melodies

In the early 00’s, Abrams released his acoustic quartet album Cipher on Delmark and his solo soundscape albums on Lucky Kitchen. Abrams released beat albums using the moniker Reminder for Prefuse 73’s Eastern Developments label and Easel  . Perihelion (Areophonic Records, 2016) with Avreeayl Ra, Dave Rempis, Jim Baker. Organix (Remedy, 1992), The Roots.

RA (stylized as R∆) is the second studio album by American singer-songwriter and record producer Simon Curtis. It was released independently on June 7, 2011. The album peaked at number 20 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart

Baker’s a logical choice to meet up with these three; his own trio with Abrams and Ra, although a sporadic grouping, dates back to the early aught’s, and he’s worked with both in countless other contexts across many years. Similarly, a multitude of collaborations between he and Rempis date back to the late 1990’s. my photos of the ticarts fundraiser back in June are live! head to their FB page & tag urself. here are a couple of the incredible Jeff Parker/Avreeayl Ra/Joshua Abrams trio performance.
