The West–Eastern Divan Orchestra is a youth orchestra based in Seville, Spain, consisting of musicians from countries in the Middle East, of Egyptian, Iranian, Israeli, Jordanian, Lebanese, Palestinian, Syrian and Spanish background. It was founded in 1999 by the conductor Daniel Barenboim and academic Edward Said, and named after an anthology of poems by Goethe. Martha Argerich, pianist and longtime performing partner of Barenboim, was named an honorary member of the orchestra in 2015.

East Meets West is the debut album by jazz guitarist John Scofield. It was recorded in 1977 at the Onkio Haus in Tokyo with bassist Clint Houston and Motohiko Hino on drums. The opening tracks of either side of the LP include trumpeter Terumasa Hino, the drummer's brother. The album was released under the title John Scofield in 1978 by Trio Records in Japan. After Trio closed, Black Hawk Records released the album in 1987 under the title East Meets West.
