Description

Rush : Beyond the Lighted Stage,альбом, рецезия, трек-лист, mp3, тексты песен.

Celebrate the remarkable 40-year career of influential Canadian rockers Rush with this documentary, which details the band's formation and evolution.

Beyond the Lighted Stage. Banger Films in association with Anthem Entertainment and Zoe Vision proudly announce the feature length release of the documentary film Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage. Directors Sam Dunn and Scot McFadyen ( Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey, Iron Maiden: Flight 666 ) embark on a comprehensive exploration of this extraordinary power trio, from their early days in Toronto, through each of their landmark albums, to the present day.

All the World's a Stage is a double live album by Canadian rock band Rush, released in 1976. The album was recorded at Massey Hall in Toronto on June 11, 12, and 13 during their 2112 tour. The title of the album alludes to William Shakespeare's play As You Like It, which would again be referenced by Rush in their 1981 song "Limelight".

Generally, people either love Rush or just don’t get them, but no one can dispute the band’s integrity, commitment to craft and artistic evolution. Such is the picture painted by directors Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn who have created an honest and intriguing look into the evolution of Canada’s greatest rock band. With the success of the concept album 2112 back in ’76, Rush finds itself in a position of power and independence, able to follow its own voice and refusing management into studio sessions. This album was the band’s passe-partout as Peart so aptly puts it.

Insightful and entertaining, Beyond the Lighted Stage starts with the band's roots in working-class Ontario. Singer-bassist Geddy Lee, the son of Holocaust survivors, a self-described "nebbishy quiet kid," bonds with guitarist Alex Lifeson, the son of Yugoslav immigrants, over "this manic love for music," completing the lineup with "literate, opinionated" drummer Neil Peart (replacing John Rutsey). Jack Black, one of several notable participants, praises their "deep reservoir of rocket sauce," while Metallica's Kirk Hammett proclaims them "the high priests of conceptual metal

The great thing about "Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage" is that the documentary enables a new-found respect and regard for an incredibly energetic and creative band that recognize their strength as the sum of their talented parts.
