Describing YAST can be hard, but also really easy. On the one hand, it's just plain and simple pop with a verse, chorus and solo. Songs about love, loneliness and confusion. On the other hand, it's our love, our loneliness and our confusion. It took just over a year and a half to record the album. But it feels like the first seed for what would finally become a record was sown back in 2008 when we moved to Malmö. And if it reaches out and touches people in any way, then we're happy. It contains some of the best songwritings that have been coming out of here. It was also a very complicated album to full fill. The ambition was mountain high, the result nearly destroyed the band.

From Sandviken in the north of Sweden comes lo-fi romantics YAST (Before the name stood for Youth And Student Travel). A bit naive, very loving and with dreamy melodies, Carl, Tobias and Marcus get help from Markus and Niklas, drummer and bass player from post punk act Aerial. Since 2004 they are based in Malmö, near Möllan. YAST will always be influenced by Yo La Tengo,Neil Young and Pavement but find inspiration in a variety of music and things.
