Escape EP (2018 Remaster) - EP. 4 tracks. Mike Wells released his first record in late 1991 after a demo tape he sent in to KISS FM made its way onto Colin Favar's desk. The rest is history and it wasn't long before the "Force Mass Motion EP" was released on Rabbit City. What quickly followed was a stream of massive selling tracks including the biggest, "Panic".

Info from Mike Wells regarding this EP and 'Panic': Druid & Jester wanted to produce a track so they visited FMM at his flat in Kingston. They were stuck for a riff, so whilst out for lunch they bought The Prodigy's Experience album and sampled the stab noise from Fire to make the riff on Panic. This was the only riff they were in the studio for as they had to home, so FMM added more riffs and completed the track alone. As Druid & Jester weren't there for most of it, they agreed to just have additional production credits rather than complete written by/produced by credits. Panic was put as the last track on the EP as they weren't sure of it, as it had too many riffs. It sold around 28,000 copies.

They're great podcasts! Props to Mallorca Lee for doing them

All about Panic for me. still holds up today.

Very good Ep, i think probably the best Force Mass released. Sub Sonix is the most well known track but Esthisis is a tune!. All are very good and defo part of the sounds of that time. Esthisis!.... All good tunes though, Panic samples Economix.

EPs were so good back in these days, at least 3 of these could be title tracks in their own right, and all in different styles

Have to agree with hyperreal - Sub Sonix is an absolutely exquisite piece of digital magic. An absolute floor-filler which everyone should own. There are plenty of awesome FMM tracks, but this one stands alone. Definitely a sunrise track.

An absolute classic EP and probably the best release on Rabbit City and by FMM. Listening back to the later FMM releases (of which there are many - testimony to Michael Wells' prolific high quality output) some of them get close, but none of them quite reach the magic found here. A1 Esthisis is a well known track to the usual hardhouse formula. For me A2 Sub Sonix is the sublime track here, elevating this release beyond others. It's absolute banging hardhouse-acid, one of the best blends of both genres I have heard even now. B1 Force Format is more classic Michael Wells with splendid breaks and accessible samples ("he-he-he ... here is comes!"). B2 Panic is the most well known, especially as it got a remix that was caned in the clubs. Much emulated track, original and best still sounds fresh.

Probably the best of early Rabbit City releases. All track are solid, done in that signature FMM sound: stompy beat, dark analogue bits followed by happy breakdowns with those wacky melodies. Panic is the best known track.
