Who's Last is the second live album by British rock band The Who, recorded in 1982 during what was then billed as the band's "farewell tour". Thus, this album, released in 1984, was to be the band's last album until 2006. Most of the album was taken from the band's 14 December 1982 show at Richfield Coliseum in Cleveland, Ohio, which was their "last concert in the USA" (as Pete Townshend can be heard saying after "Won't Get Fooled Again") this time around.
Who's Last was that album. Sticking to the classics actually works against the band, since these chestnuts simply don't sound as powerful with Kenny Jones behind the drums. Jones, however, shouldn't take.

The Who - Who& Next (1971).
Who’s Next started life as a Pete Townshend concept entitled Lifehouse, which contained enough songs for a double album, but the project was eventually reduced to a single LP. Recordings for the album began in New York with Kit Lambert as producer, but the band weren’t satisfied with the results and returned to London to re-record them at Olympic Studios in Barnes with Glyn Johns. Most of the songs recorded with Johns appeared on Who’s Next while the leftovers appeared on singles and later, Odds & Sods (see album). Who’s Next became the only Who album to make in the UK charts.
It's Hard, the Who's controversial and somewhat underrated 10th album, was released in September 1982. Years later, singer Roger Daltrey said it never should have seen the light of day. The album came during a strained period for the Who, who were coming off 1981's commercially successful but creatively disappointing Face Dances. Plus, guitarist and songwriter Pete Townshend's drinking finally led to rehab. After returning to the Who, there were fences to be mended both personally and creatively
The story behind The Who's Who's Next album artwork. By TeamRock (Louder) 2016-10-28T12:05:00. How a rubbish dump in County Durham provided the backdrop to The Who's iconic album sleeve. Up there among the elite British rock albums, The Who’s Who’s Next was not only a triumphant follow-up to Tommy, but also touched by the hand of Lady Luck – and that’s never more true than with the way the cover concept came together. Without any hesitation, the four Who members gathered around one of the mysterious objects, and Russell started shooting. We did a lot of different poses, including some based on the 2001: A Space Odyssey idea of the apes gathering around the black obelisk. Then Pete started to piss on it, and I went with the flow, as it were.
The Who’s most recent performance of Tommy, which they say was the last, came in 2017 for the Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall. But they will perform parts of it, with a full symphony orchestra, during their show at Wembley Stadium in London on 6 July. 01 Overture 02 It’s A Boy 03 1921 04 Amazing Journey 05 Sparks 06 Eyesight To The Blind 07 Christmas 08 Cousin Kevin 09 The Acid Queen 10 Do You Think It’s Alright 11 Fiddle About 12 Pinball Wizard 13 There’s A Doctor 14 Go To The Mirror 15 Tommy, Can You Hear Me? 16 Smash The Mirror 17 Refrain – It’s A Boy 18 I’m Free 19 Miracle Cure 20 Sensation 21 Sally Simpson 22 Welcome 23 Tommy’s Holiday Camp 24 We’re Not Gonna Take It.
