Clint Patrick Black (born February 4, 1962) is an American country music singer, songwriter, musician, t, record producer and actor. Signed to RCA Records in 1989, Black's debut album Killin' Time produced four straight number one singles on the US Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts. Although his momentum gradually slowed throughout the 1990s, Black consistently charted hit songs into the 2000s.

Clint Black's album The Hard Way, in my opinion, is wrongly underrated. This record's release was delayed because of a legal dispute Clint had with his ex-manager, and I think that that controversy may have detracted from the record itself, which I think is one of the best Clint has ever put out. Also, except for "We Tell Ourselves", "When My Ship Comes In" and "Something To Cry About", the songs on this record are all ballads, reminiscent of Clint's debut Killin' Time album.
