Sol Bear Coulton is an up-and-coming artist from New Plymouth, NZ. He is influenced by Maori, Pasifika.

Kenyan sensational pop star, Sauti Sol hits back with a new album, titled Live And Die In Afrika

The 15-track album is the group’s first self-produced album touted to have birthed the hit singles: Sura Yako, Isabella, Nishike, Shake Yo Bam Bam and Still the One. The album is a celebration of the African continent coming of age, flaunting the richness in cultural diversity, talent and resources. And now we finally have a generation that fully believes in this continent and her great potential. African diaspora is on a mission to reconnect with their roots, be it through music or other media. They sing and dance to the same tune at a wedding in Moshi, Tanzania. There is a willingness to Live and Die in Afrika. These are the united minds of Africa. Minds that will LIVE AND DIE IN AFRIKA!

Sol-fa (ソルファ Sorufa) is the second studio album by Japanese rock band, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, released on October 20, 2004. With the LP, AKG fully realized and honed the upbeat tempo but hard-edged and emotionally charged sound first expressed within Hōkai Amplifier. The urgency of the songs were complemented by the balanced nature of the overall album, creating their most mature release as of late.

Sauti Sol’s Mwanzo album is a perfect blend of soul/afro/pop, reminiscent of the great Soul close-harmony bands from the Motown era – but with a unique Kenyan flavor! 1. Asubuhi, 2. Lazizi, 3. Mafunzo ya dunia, 4. Sunny days, 5. Zosi, 6. Wera, 7. Mama papa feat. Dela, 8. Blue uniform, 9. Interlude Sauti Sol, 10.

Taranaki Sol’s one and only slab of vinyl is a unique amalgam of music, storytelling, humour and a whole lot of heckling from the audience. Sol doesn’t play live much these days and has instead renounced his worldly possessions to embark on a sight seeing world tour by bicycle! This record is a cool slice of Kiwi originality and was one of the last records to be pressed in NZ before the EMI pressing plant in Lower Hutt closed in 1987 and is limited to about 200-300 copies (no-one can quite remember!).
