Description

Black Sabbath ‎– Northern Exposure. Label: Massive Attack Discs ‎– MA 990024.

Ozzy Osbourne may have just postponed his tour due to ill health, but to make up for that, take a look back at the satanic highs and tepid lows of his one-time band.

Northern Exposure is a mix album by British DJ duo Sasha & John Digweed, released on 27 September 1996. The British package contains both CDs, whereas the American only has the first disc. The album is a concept album of tracks specially selected and mixed as two different "journeys", the first being the north journey, and the second being the south journey.

Best Black Sabbath album to have ever been recorded! Best lineup of Black Sabbath, by far: Ozzy Osbourne - vocals Tony Iommi - guitar Geezer Butler - bass Bill Ward - drums. Black Sabbath’s masterpiece is Master of Reality. The 1st album that Tony Iommi detuned his guitar on to give that classic Sabbath sound. While Paranoid might have more recognizable hits, Master of Reality is better start to finish. Don't just automatically pick "Paranoid" as the best Sabbath album because it has two "hits". Put on your diplomatic hat and listen to these two albums back to back. You'll see that the riffs on Master kill the riffs on the Paranoid album.

Black Sabbath is the debut studio album by Black Sabbath. Released on 13 February 1970 in the United Kingdom and on 1 June 1970 in the United States, the album reached number eight on the UK Albums Charts and number 23 on the Billboard charts. Although it was poorly received by most contemporary music critics at the time, Black Sabbath is now widely considered the first heavy metal album. In retrospect, Black Sabbath has been lauded as perhaps the first true heavy metal album. Taking a broader perspective, Pete Prown of Vintage Guitar says, "The debut Black Sabbath album of 1970 was a watershed moment in heavy rock, but it was part of a larger trend of artists, producers, and engineers already moving towards the sound we now call hard rock and heavy metal.

Black Sabbath : Black Sabbath, disco, crónica, tracklist, mp3, textos. Bassist Geezer Butler came up with the idea for the band's name from an old Boris Karloff horror flick called Black Sabbath. He saw how popular those movies were and proposed the idea of using musical themes about horror and the occult. Ozzy loved the idea and soon began writing the lyrics for the ominous song, Black Sabbath. It was a very innovative idea at the time, because their contemporaries were into the hippie style. Guitarist Tony Iommi had 2 of his fingertips cut off in an accident, about 4 years earlier.

Before Black Sabbath, there were plenty of rock groups that played heavy: The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, Blue Cheer, Iron Butterfly, Led Zeppelin. But the music that Sabbath created in the early 70s was heavier and darker than anything that had come before, and it would prove seminal. Black Sabbath are the forefathers of heavy metal, says Rick Rubin, the producer of the band’s most recent album 13. They may well be the heaviest band of all time. And I don’t know of a more influential band other than The Beatles.

Is there any singular musical entity in heavy metal as far-reaching and as influential as the genre's progenitors? No, there's not. Metal may not have existed would if not for a mishap at a metal factory where guitarist Tony Iommi (who turned out to be a metal factory of his own) lost the tips of his fingers during his last day on the job. With plastic tips outfitted on his fretting hand, he down-tuned his guitar as the slack on the strings made it easier to play with the impairment and there we have it - metal was born. On the other end, the band has been responsible for a few duds, all of which have their respective ups and downs.

1970 studio album by Black Sabbath. Black Sabbath vocalist Ozzy Osbourne has always spoken fondly of the recording of the band's debut album, stating in his autobiography I Am Ozzy, "Once we'd finished, we spent a couple of hours double-tracking some of the guitar and vocals, and that was that.
