Freedom Call's first album, Stairway to Fairyland, came out in 1999, but their larger-than-life approach to power metal is firmly rooted in the Judas Priest/Iron Maiden/Queensrÿche/Manowar era - and the German headbangers continue in that vein on 2007's Dimensions

The huge problem with this album is the songwriting, which is rarely better than decent, and just like reqiuem99 I didn’t become a fan of Freedom Call because they made decent music. There are no real standout tracks to be found here and the best song wouldn’t even have made the top 5 best songs on Eternity.

Freedom Call is a German power metal band formed in 1998. The band tours regularly and the current line-up includes two original members including lead vocalist and songwriter, Chris Bay. Freedom Call has released 12 albums in total, nine of these studio albums. Freedom Call's frontman Chris Bay's vocal talent was more or less inherited from his grandfather, an opera singer with the Berlin State Opera, and his mother, who was a sought-after chorus singer.

Beyond is the eighth full-length album by the German power metal band Freedom Call. It was released on February 21, 2014, by SPV. A vinyl version of Beyond was released on March 14, 2014. Beyond marked the return of founding member, bassist Ilker Ersin, and the addition of Ramy Ali on drums.
