Notes

There were four types of test pressings.

The first (this release), plain white labels in black paper bags, was done via The Producers. It sounded horrible and was rejected. The rep at The Producers claimed it was impossible to get music like this to sound right.

The metalwork was sent to Mayking, whose first test pressing (Mayking labels, date stamped 21 Mars 1990, white paper sleeve) was also rejected, after which the metalwork was inspected by George at Porky's who'd cut it. He said The Producers' plant had polished the metalwork and damaged it. One side had to be re-cut.

The third TP, Mayking labels, date stamped 29 Mars 1990, white paper sleeve, also rejected.

The fourth test pressing (Mayking labels, date stamped 24 Avril 1990, white paper sleeve) was finally acceptable.

There were four (!) test pressings of this record. The first, plain white labels in black paper bags, was done via The Producers. It sounded horrible and was rejected. The rep at The Producers claimed it was impossible to get music like this to sound right! The metalwork was sent to Mayking, whose first test pressing (Mayking labels, date stamped 21 Mars 1990, white paper sleeve) was rejected, after which the metalwork was inspected by George at Porky's who'd cut it. He said The Producers' plant had polished the metalwork and damaged it. One side had to be re-cut.(At some point there was a third TP, Mayking labels, date stamped 29 Mars 1990, white paper sleeve, so it appears this release was indeed proving slightly problematic...)The fourth test pressing (Mayking labels, date stamped 24 Avril 1990, white paper sleeve) was finally acceptable.
