As I listened to Black Prism’s eponymous debut album, I couldn’t help but think it would have been considered a classic for today’s fuzzers all around the world. How is the sound ? The album starts with a slow, doomy riff that builds for over two minutes until we’re hit with a powerful wall of sound reminiscent of Black Sabbath’s Hole In The Sky and ozzy-esque vocals that fit perfectly in the mix. This is when you realise what’s to come: Black Prism adds their own twist to the worship formula, taking every factor to a deeper, darker and more aggressive level. Psychomania and Satan’s Country keep up the previously built vibe right until the more slowed-down and groovy Black Mountain Road, certainly another standout here. And finally, it all speeds up again with Booger Sugar, the closing track (not counting their awesome bluesy untitled bonus song).

Armageddon is the third studio album and fourth album overall by Canadian rock band Prism. It was released in 1979 on Canadian record label GRT. It achieved double platinum status in Canada (in excess of 200,000 units sold). Armageddon is notable for several reasons. Bruce Fairbairn received the Canadian music industry 1980 Juno Award for Producer of the Year for the album. Band leader and Lindsay Mitchell received the SOCAN Song of the Year award for "Night to Remember"
