Teddy Pendergrass is the debut solo album from the American R&B/soul singer, Teddy Pendergrass. It did well for a debut album, reaching on the US Billboard 200 and on the Billboard R&B album chart. Two singles were released: "I Don't Love You Anymore"; and "The Whole Town's Laughing at Me", reaching pop & R&B; and R&B respectively. All tracks composed by Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff; except where indicated.

This One's for You was the sixth album by R&B crooner Teddy Pendergrass. It was released just after a bad car accident Pendergrass was involved in, which left him paralyzed from the waist down due to a spinal cord injury. The album did not do as well as his previous albums did on the Billboard 200, peaking at only but it did do well on the R&B album chart, reaching #6.

At one point, Pendergrass wanted the group to be renamed "Teddy Pendergrass and the Blue Notes" because fans kept mistaking him for Melvin. Pendergrass left the group in 1975, and the Blue Notes struggled with his replacements. They eventually left Philadelphia International and toiled in relative obscurity, until Melvin's death in 1997. In August 1982, Philadelphia International released This One's for You, which failed to chart successfully, as did 1983's Heaven Only Knows. Both albums included material Pendergrass had recorded before his accident. The albums completed his contract with Philadelphia International. The concert became the album From Teddy, With Love, which was released on the Razor & Tie record label later that year. It was his second (after Live! Coast to Coast) and final live album.

Teddy Pendergrass – we love you! This is one of Mr. P’s greatest albums of smooth mellow soul – recorded after he left Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, and began working in a wonderfully warm solo style that had a huge influence on male vocal soul for years to come! The sound here is tremendous – nearly perfect all the way through, with a great balance between class, sophistication, and soul – clearly an indication that Teddy made the right move by going on his ow. Dexter Wansel, MFSB, Bobby Martin all the players and shakers of the Philly Sound were there to lend him a hand. This is soul at its finest.
