Description

The Divine Comedy : Regeneration,альбом, рецезия, трек-лист, mp3, тексты песен.

Regeneration is the seventh studio album by The Divine Comedy - and their first for Parlophone/EMI - released on 12 March 2001. Three singles were released from the album: "Love What You Do", "Bad Ambassador" and "Perfect Lovesong", the latter failing to make top 40. Produced by Nigel Godrich, known for his work with Radiohead, this album is distinctly different from Neil Hannon's other work and was darker in tone than what The Divine Comedy's listeners had come to expect.

Old worlds seen through new eyes Just you and I and the sheltering sky The battle is over but the war's not yet won It's only just begun. We'll walk the razor's edge The highest ledge of the worlds highest window The first lap is finished but the race isn't run It's only just begun.

Divine Comedy : Regeneration. Neil Hannon has never been one to shy away from the grand gesture. His previous, 1998 album (The Divine Comedy’s last for an indie label) was called ‘Fin De Siècle’; now a new millennium brings the equally confidently titled major label debut ‘Regeneration’. Yet all does not appear to be well in The Divine Comedy’s world. While Hannon’s lyrics earned him a reputation as one of the most bumptious men in pop, they now portray him as unsure and depressed. Where once were orchestras confidently blasting away, now stands pensive flu rock – produced by the guru of the genre, Nigel Godrich (Radiohead, Travis).

Biography by Stephen Thomas Erlewine. Vehicle for Neil Hannon, creator of pop creations majestic, orchestral, ironic, and strikingly poignant. A Short Album About Lo. he Divine Comedy. The Divine Comedy: Li. A Secret History: Bes. ee Full Discography.

I think it's fair to say that the 1997 Radiohead album OK Computer altered the course of music. In the UK, it signalled the end of Britpop and gave rise to a new generation of bands such as Coldplay and Travis. Apparently, the release of that seminal LP also hit The Divine Comedy's Neil Hannon pretty hard too. Upon concluding the first spin, I can imagine him jumping up and down like a chimpanzee that has just discovered fire, shouting "I want to do THAT!!" at anyone who would listen.
