Studio: Classic Rock Legends/Ka. DVD Release Date: February 5, 2002. On March 30 1990, Hatfield & The North reunited (with the excellent Sophia Domancich filling in for keyboardist Dave Stewart) for a one-off gig for British TV. The "Bedrock" series - so named because it aired at like 3:00 in the morning - was to showcase the best of British Classic Rock and included such notables as Hatfield, Caravan, Gong, Hawkwind, Asia, Lindisfarne, Sky, Family, Strawbs and many others, utilizing a combination of archival footage and, where possible, a reuniting of the original members. The audio of this Hatfield concert - recorded live in a TV studio in Nottingham - was released in 1993 as the "Live 1990" compact disc but SEEING the tunes performed adds a whole other dimension to our enjoyment.

Got this DVD from a friend. Since I only have a few tracks from Hatfield And The North (from their 70-ties records) on some compilations, which are amazing, I was curious. But after the first song, my enthusiasm got tempered. After some more I was disappointed. This sounds more like a bunch of Caravan songs without the depth that band had once, nor which is to be found on Hatfield And The North’s 70-ties records. It is a pity, but there is no jazz-rock, psychedelic rock nor prog rock in my ears, in this one. Maybe I will find it in Hatfield And The North’s 70-ties records?
