Formed in 1985, The Young Gods took their name from one of Swans' early EPs. They are notable for their distinctive sound, in which a sampler is utilized to create the sound of electric guitar and bass guitars, whilst retaining a live drummer and vocalist. This work was like a comet that hit the Earth when it first came out, there was nothing like it known to mankind, and to top it was nearly impossible.
