Dan Melchior arrived in North Carolina by way of NYC, via England. In his 20s, he collaborated with Billy Childish and Holly Golightly (providing the latter with her slide from chipper Headcoatees garage into darker realms care of her landmark single "Your Love Is Mine"), while performing with his own rock combo, the Broke Revue. That group boiled up under street level all over Brooklyn and Manhattan for a number of years, releasing records that got better and better, until their masterwork double-album, O Clouds Unfold, was scrapped in a disagreement with his label.
