Thorium Ore is an ore which generates naturally in the world upon creation. It can also be found in Strange Crates and Scarlet Crates. Its associated bar can be made into a variety of useful early game tools and weapons. It can be mined with any pickaxe. The name "Thorium" is inspired by a similarly named teal colored ore in the popular MMORPG World of Warcraft. This ore was in turn inspired by the chemical element Thorium, which is a radioactive actinide metal.

Belgium’s Thorium, not to be confused with the Danish Death Metal merchants of the same name, are slated to release their self-titled debut album, a nine-song collection of up-tempo Metal. After the brief instrumental opener March Of The Eastern Tribe, the action proper starts with Ostrogoth a clear tribute to the storied Belgian group of the same name where several of Thorium’s members worked together. Thorium is in my DNA now and something I see I will be doing for the rest of my life. I just needed to find the right recipe, which I believe I have now. The comeback album "Blasphemy Awakes" was recorded and mixed in late 2017 by Jakob Gundel (Invocator) in Copenhagen at GainFactory. The final mix for the Thorium comeback album "Blasphemy Awakes" is now done. Jakob Gundel did a helluva job! This weekend the 11 songs will be mastered at the legendary Medley Studios. Thorium are influenced by and incorporate elements of all the classic styles of metal. From the past four decades, such as NWOBHM, power metal, progressive metal, speed metal, Bay Area thrash and of course classic heavy metal. A short war-drum beat and encouraging riff (March of the Eastern Tribe) leads into Ostrogoth, a track that is weighted heavily towards classic heavy metal with flashes of speed, thrash and power thrown in. When Thorium say they are a bubbling pot of influences and styles, they weren’t kidding. A super strong vocal performance (all the way through the album) and decent solos are the most positive things that can be said about so-so tracks.

Thorium formed in late 1997 with a mission to play old school death metal. With members involved in other bands (Withering Surface, Iniquity, Taetre and Infernal Torment), Thorium had the experience it took to work fast and efficiently. It did not take more than a year to play the first gigs (. opening slot for the reformed Artillery), record a 2 track demo and get a record deal with Diehard Music.
